The second Amendment must be honored by states

The supreme court ruled today that the second amendment must be honored by states in a 5 vs 4 vote split down party/ideological lines. This is something quite honestly I have always thought was a no brainer. In fact I've pretty much always the the entire Bill of Rights was pretty self explanatory.

So why does this issue of gun rights keep coming up time and time again? A few reasons that I can think of. For one well meaning yet misguided rose color glasses wearing liberals for some reason believe that taking away the legal right to have guns will stop criminals from getting guns and killing people. I don't know why.

The second is power, fear and control. Taking guns away from the general populous will take power from the populous. The government fears an armed populous especially governments with the intention of grabbing more and more of our rights. Taking the guns away from the general law abiding populous is a ploy to pacify the populous leaving a malicious regime the opportunity raid pillage and plunder the people with out fear of an armed revolt.
As well an unarmed population will turn more and more to the government for protection, whether it be police, sheriffs or the military.

That's really about the long and short of it. This ruling is definitely a step in the right direction. If Elena Kagen gets approved for the Supreme court I fear fewer and fewer steps in this direction. Hopefully the senate will have enough testicular fortitude to keep that from happening.

Irritants

I find I spend most of my time listening to news and talk radio as well as reading news, politics and current events. Right now their is a whole bunch of weird and wild crap going on in our world. However, I find, that it is not only the big things that send me flying off the handle but also ,and sometimes more so, the things that seem like insignificant or maybe just a passing human interest story that send my blood pressure soaring.

Lets take a recent article a group is talking about suing McDonalds. Why? You ask because they put toys in the "Happy Meals", something that they've done for, oh I don't know the last thirty one years. They claim that putting the toys in Happy Meals is "unfair and deceptive" marketing and that the food is making our kids fat...

This almost renders me speechless. What has happened to choice? What has happened to parents having the authority to make decisions about what their family eats. What right does this "Center for Science in the Public Interest" to tell me what I can feed my family? Seriously who the hell are these people?

And deceptive really? What I ask is deceptive about a Happy Meal? It's a burger and fries with a toy or you could even get it with milk and apples. They don't advertise it as anything other than that.

This is simply another "progressive" activist group vomiting their pro-government regulation propaganda in an attempt to get the public to accept the government interfering with every part of your life.

So... in conclusion my thought on this are the "Centers for science in the Public interest" should be punished for this...this is the very definition of a frivolous law suit...my favorite thought is that when they bring this to court the judge should find them in contempt, make them pay all the legal fees and court costs and put all involved in jail for a few days.

And to all the parents out there who think that McDonalds is going to make your kids fat...DON'T TAKE THEM!! That's it, you don't need government regulation to tell you that. You are the parent so what, if you're kids whine about wanting the cheap toy... again you're the parents tell them NO! Again it's that easy people.

(more about this group here and here)

This is the type of thing I'm talking about. Most people would see this and go "huh that's interesting" but not me I write multi-page blogs about it. This article ranks right up there with PETA trying to shut down KFC because they're being mean to the cute widdle chickies...wah wah wah. It's a level on stupidity that generally renders me near speechless.

On this topic I have to ask has anyone in PETA ever been around chickens? They're dirty, smelly and eat out of they're own poo, and not just when they're all cooped up, and they're dumb, a prime requite I find for being a food animal.

This is yet another one of those seemingly insignificant issues that really seems to get my blood pressure up and yet you find when you dig deeper into these issues you find that they have much more significance. Like the impact to freedom of choice.

So that's just my little nugget for everyone to chew on tonight.

The Future.

The future is something that is on every ones mind right now, because right now the future, here isn't looking too bright. But I'm not just talking about the future of the united states, I'm talking about the future of the human race. The future of humanity is something I've always been interested in. My interests in this topic have included everything from science to science fiction to Bible prophecy.

My thoughts on the future of humanity is pretty simple. Humanity will endure as long as we can. Whether it just be another 100 years till we destroy ourselves or be it another million years or longer. We will endure as long as we have the will or as long as our creator will allow.

What shape our future will take? I feel it will take many, from the pinnacle of liberty to the depths of despotism and mixtures and any combination of, through times of stability to times of natures worst wrath and from the height of known technology to the dark ages and back.

What is my hope for humanity? My hope for humanity is the stars. I don't believe that I'll be alive for this, but my hope for humanity is that we will one day be able to explore the stars and colonize other planets.

You see, I fully believe that there is other life out there. With so many stars and so many of those stars having other planets it's almost to hard for me to believe that their isn't any other life out there. Whether they've visited us here I don't know but I believe they're out there, and if we can go to the stars before we obliterate ourselves I believe we may just meet them.

Not to mention our creator is a creator. Did he just quite creating all together with us? The Genesis outlines our creation doesn't say one way or another whether he did anything anywhere else. So is it not possible he created others elsewhere? The Bible and other scripture deal specifically with us on earth.

So how does this mesh with Bible prophecy? I don't know that it does but I'm also not sure that it doesn't. I've read the book of Revelations (many times actually). the ending gets a little mixed up. See the world never actually seems to end. It speaks of a new heaven, a new Earth and a new Jerusalem and this is all after the judgments and then it goes into a description of Heaven. As well as after the thousand years the dragon is let out of the pit and things seem to get back to normal for awhile and then he gets kick out for good. Then there is the judgment and the new Earth and such.

I know many people believe we're in the days just before the things in the Book of Revelation start and some actually believe that these are the events of the Book of Revelation and Daniel spoke of. Personally I've meditated and studied and prayed and I am not so sure myself.

I guess I just don't see the creator, if in deed he is a benign creator, I don't see him as being a short term kind of guy. If a thousand years is indeed as a day to him and humans have only been around for six thousand years then we're barely a week into this thing. So why stop now?

These are just my thoughts...

I think Obama sunk the oil rig by releasing the Krakken

I love the title of this blog. It's a combination of three pretty fun things. First it implies a conspiracy theory, always a good time, it's satirical which is fun and it blames Obama also a good time. That's my explanation for any Obama zombies who might have needed one.

First off I'm actually going to applaud BP. I know conservative side with big business blah, blah blah. Well, I'm not really a fan of big business I've worked for several VERY large companies and truth be told not really a fan. My applaud of BP is they're doing the best they can with no help from the administration.

But it's they're fault you say. Yeah maybe, maybe it was the company who owed the rig, maybe it was Haliburton, maybe it was the eco-nuts who made them drill in water a MILE deep, maybe it was the administration who rubber stamped they're last inspection, maybe Barry really did release the Krakken. At this point it doesn't really matter. What matters is that BP is taking full responsibility for it.

They're taking responsibility for it and doing the best they can to figure out a way to fix it. What has the regime done? Other than sending lawyer, more lawyer a swat team, a bunch of empty suite bureaucrats and throwing hissy fits and threatening to "Keep their boot on BP's throat"?

Nothing. Not one blasted thing. Their are no reports of the army corps of engineers helping or any other productive section of government doing anything to help. And what do I have to say about that? Good! BP is better off without the governments help. This is their business and I have no doubt that they are doing a much better job than any government agency every good. Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for the armed services, but they are not in the oil business.

I understand that this is a horrible ecological disaster and it's one of those things that could very well fall under a category that the government needs to do something about. I understand that this is going to turn in to a horrible economic disaster for the south and possibly for the whole country. So why ,your probably still asking, am I glad that the regime has not really gotten it self involved in this. The answer is simple... The federal government has a bad habit of messing up every thing it touches, and that goes double for the current regime.

Do I even have to list examples?

The NOAA had a plan that they developed almost twenty years ago for just such an occasion and they just sat and watched like a bunch of stoned teenagers. The President didn't even mention it till nearly a week after it happened, and then he tried to take credit when everybody thought that the top kill worked and then we find out it didn't and now I bet he's pissed. The
Governor of Louisiana had a plan to help protect they're shores from the oil, the plan was to build a series of barrier off the coast, and the administration told him no, they needed to study what the environmental impact of building they barriers would be.

I can answer that one...A lot less than thousands of gallons of oil washing on to the shore and bayous of the Louisiana coast doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. So just based on this last paragraph I have to say... There is a saying "Lead, Follow or get out of the way"...so I guess what I'm saying in summation... The Obama regime needs to GET OUT OF THE WAY!!
Not to mention unless Obama has something constructive to say or gets out he magical messiah diving suit and goes down and caps the well him self I've heard from him all I need to hear about this.

In conclusion to British Petroleum I applaud you for taking responsibility and many of us know that you're doing the best you can under the conditions your in and with what you are allowed to do
